You’ll find our gaming floor on level 2, Stratton House, 16-24 Beach Street. The official address is 16-24 Beach Street, Queenstown. Gaming machines and tables are available, including Blackjack, Roulette and Midi Baccarat. Some tables accommodate higher stakes for those who prefer elevated play. The casino is part of the SkyCity network in New Zealand and is located in central Queenstown, close to the waterfront.

Anyone 20 or older can come and try their luck. All our machines only work if you use your SHOW by SkyCity rewards card. Quick Pay allows funds to be credited to your card immediately after linking a payment method. We’re open daily, closed only on Christmas Day, plus reduced hours on Good Friday and Anzac Day morning.

Wild Thyme Bar and Kitchen

Wild Thyme is our answer to hungry or thirsty guests. We’ve got a kitchen working all day from 11am, food made here, drinks served over the bar. Staff are well-versed in responsible service practices and keep an eye to make sure all is handled by the rules. Our seating is open-plan-plenty of nooks if you want a breather from the floor, windows with a look out over Queenstown, all inside the central casino.

Age Check and Entry Rules

At the entrance to level 2, our security always asks for your ID. You’ll need one of these to get in:

1. New Zealand driver license
2. New Zealand passport
3. International passport
4. Kiwi Access Card

You must be 20 or older for the gaming floor and for any part of Wild Thyme if entering from inside the casino. Younger kids aren’t allowed to wait by themselves anywhere on the premises, or even in the car outside.

If it’s clear someone’s had too much to drink or gambling seems to be a problem, our team can and will turn people away. Staff are trained in responsible service practices to intervene and follow New Zealand’s protections to minimize gambling harm.

Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion

You can find up-to-date information about responsible gambling all around the gaming floor and at our members’ desk. If any guest feels gambling is becoming a problem, they can come forward for voluntary self-exclusion - ask staff and choose the duration to be barred, sign the form and provide your ID.

We also support family-initiated, or third-party, exclusion. This means if someone’s worried about a loved one, they can start the process, provided they supply documents and go through an assessment.

Table Games: Rules, Bets and Etiquette

For those just starting or uncertain about game etiquette, grab a brochure covering Blackjack, Roulette and Midi Baccarat. Standard casino games include roulette, blackjack, and slot machines. Our dealers are happy to talk people through the basics or betting options in a relaxed way.

Each table displays the minimum and maximum bets for each seat. If something’s unclear, please ask our dealer before putting down chips. Midi Baccarat is played with the standard rules, but with a bit more space at the table; more players, same core game.

Quick Pay Set-Up for Machines

Quick Pay makes gaming a lot smoother. Simply connect a payment method via member portal (or see the desk), confirm it, and you can add funds directly to gaming machines with your SHOW card. You can set spending limits too.

When you insert your card, Quick Pay is ready to go. All transactions show up in your member account for tracking. Prefer to use cash? No worries-machines still take it, and our floor staff or cashier windows are right there for change or payouts.

We’re open daily. We close on Christmas Day, and for part of Good Friday and Anzac Day morning, as required by law. To get here, come up via stairs or elevator from Beach Street. There are elevators and stairs available for access to level 2. We’re equipped for varying mobility needs, but feel free to check about accessible features before coming, just to be certain. There is ample public parking and transport conveniently located nearby for an easy arrival.
